E3: How Boomers Mess Up With Gen Z: Winning the Argument, Not the Person

Am I really listening—or just waiting for my turn to talk?
Boomers grew up learning how to make the pitch, persuade people, and “close the deal.” Sometimes we've brought that same approach into conversations about faith—especially when someone we love believes differently than we do.

But NextGens don't want a sales pitch. They want authenticity, dialogue, and the freedom to wrestle honestly with what they believe.

Jesus understood that. When the rich young ruler walked away, Jesus didn't chase him down or pressure him into changing his mind. He spoke truth, loved him, and allowed him to choose.

The third and final episode in our series, How Boomers Mess Up with Gen Z, addresses Winning the Argument, Not the Person. Let’s examine our tendency to prove our point or “win” the debate—and learn how to value the person, protect the relationship, and trust the Holy Spirit with the outcome.
