E2: How Boomers Mess Up With Gen Z: Convictions Without Compassion

Am I really listening—or just waiting for my turn to talk?
We older generations often have strong convictions about what is right and wrong, true and false. Those convictions matter—but sometimes our passion for defending the truth can cause us to forget how our words are being heard by the NextGens we love.

That doesn't mean we abandon biblical truth. But it may mean we need to rethink how we communicate it.

Jesus never compromised truth, yet He was remarkably compassionate toward people who had been beaten down by critics. He knew how to challenge what was wrong without becoming harsh or condemning.

The second episode in our series, How Boomers Mess Up with Gen Z, tackles Convictions Without Compassion. Let’s consider how we older generations communicate the truths and convictions we hold—and how following Jesus’ example can help us speak with greater compassion, encouragement, and grace.
